Closing the Distance

The Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT) is a non-profit society organized for the purpose of encouraging basic and clinical scientists interested in Brain Mapping, engineering, stem cell, nanotechnology, imaging, and medical devices to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients afflicted with neurological disorders.

This society promotes public welfare and improves patient care through the translation of new technologies and therapies into lifesaving diagnostic and therapeutic procedures — committed to excellence in education and scientific discovery through multi-disciplinary collaborations with government agencies, patient advocacy groups, educational institutes, industry, and philanthropic organizations.

More than three billion people live with neurological conditions worldwide. The distance between discovery and patient care remains too wide. We exist to close that distance.

Purpose. Mission. Vision.

PURPOSE

Accelerating Neurotechnology Into Clinical Impact

To accelerate the translation of neurotechnology into real-world clinical impact — bridging the gap between scientific discovery and patient care.

MISSION

Uniting Science, Technology, Medicine & Policy

To unite science, technology, medicine, and policy to advance brain health worldwide through interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-driven innovation.

VISION

The World's Leading Neurotechnology Authority

To be the world's leading authority in translational neurotechnology — the definitive global platform where brain innovation meets clinical reality.

SBMT Is Where

Neurotechnology Meets Clinical Practice

Cutting-edge neurotech innovations are evaluated, validated, and prepared for integration into real clinical workflows that affect patient outcomes globally.

Artificial Intelligence Meets Brain Imaging

AI-driven analysis, deep learning diagnostics, and computational neuroscience converge with advanced imaging modalities to redefine what is possible in brain medicine.

Surgeons Collaborate With Engineers

The clinical perspective of neurosurgeons and the technical innovation of engineers merge to design devices, protocols, and therapies that transform patient care.

Policymakers Engage With Scientists

Evidence-based research reaches the legislative and regulatory sphere, enabling accelerated approval pathways and broader access to life-changing neurotechnologies.

Educational Objectives

01

Apply new findings in Neurotech, brain mapping & therapeutics relevant to your own sub-specialty and clinical practice.

02

Describe the effect of newly developed methods in medical imaging, medical devices, nanotechnology, and stem cell therapy.

03
